It took Johnny until AFTER Frontiers came out to get around to reviewing FP2. Then amidst all that was also the Tokyo Game Show where Sonic Frontiers was earning rave reviews so at the audience which would be most receptive to this game their attention was more focused on the upcoming Sonic game so there wasn't really any time to give attention to smaller indie projects. I know in Johnny's review he mentioned the fact that the game came out so close to Splatoon 3 means that the attention on social media was more on Nintendo's new game, not to mention that the game came out on the same day as a State of Play AND a Nintendo Direct. The game was sort of launched as like a community thing almost, where those already in the know and paying attention who are an active part of the GT community were rewarded. But yeah it is mainly the same people consistently doing that sort of stuff. There are a small number of creators on the likes of Twitter and DeviantArt that are constantly making new fanart. For FP2, however, the whole release seems to have gone in basically stealth mode, both in official channels and the fan stuff. I'm not saying if fan works are good or bad, but they produce ripples which people notice giving the game more exposure. Just crunching some cold hard numbers here and sharing some concerns. I'm also not advertising anything, especially the imageboards, given the nature of most content posted there. To be clear, in no way am I trying to diminish the efforts of fans and their creations. If you take the infamous "monosodium glutamate" imageboard (if you know, you know), there were just 82 new FP-tagged pictures posted since the game release out of 1700+ present on site total. However, there was hardly a bump if any at all. Normally, you'd expect such an event to produce a noticeable wave of fan content on all channels, given the new lore and characters. As a very bright example, if you go to, say, fanfiction(dot)net, you'd find out that FP series has 6 pages worth of stuff, yet NONE was posted or even updated since Feb 2022, which was a year ago and 7 months before the release of FP2 in Sep 2022. For FP2 the situation honestly doesn't look so good, and most of the stuff actually predates the release. While it's admittedly an unreliable indicator, one can use the amount of fan work present, like fanart or fics (yes, yes, including THAT type of stuff) to check how active the fandom is. The only reason I ever found out about it? One of my friends bought it on Steam like 2-3 months after release, and I saw it on a "Recent Activity" tab which I only checked out of pure boredom.Īnother thing. And don't stick USB drives won in reality shows into your drones without scanning it with antivirus.Yea, I feel like FP2 is quite heavily overlooked, even though it's a very solid fun game. Tl dr: There is a possibility that Earth Dragons are innocent. That would mean that it was a false record based on Merga's misinterpretation. Merga could be misinformed about intentional genocide and Magister considered her handwriting as the evidence without knowing the true author. Maybe even they didn't have propaganda at all and all records were written by Earth Dragons because Water Dragons were illiterate, with exception of Merga taught by Cornelia. Either way, it is possible that Earth Dragons were not guilty of the Water Dragon genocide. Or it could have been a work of a single person who could potentially not be an Earth Dragon. The existence of a virus that can infect Pangu/Syntax type drones means that there is a possibility that the virus could have caused the "mining laser incident", which really was an accident. How time capsules even impacted the events that led to Syntax taking over in a very creepy fashion? Could the time capsules contain a malware that infected Bakunawa through Pangu, and then Syntax during the short period when Syntax was in control, leading to the secret ending? A virus that wasn't there in the normal ending. Something "in her veins" was telling her to kill. Syntax looked like she was infected with some kind of virus. I was thinking why collecting time capsules changed anything in the ending.
